Co-production of heat and electrical energy – cogeneration |
|
The biomass systems producing electricity and heat reperesent the cutting edge development of our technology and engineering. We offer advice and assistance in all phases of the project and also a turnkey project implementation. In these projects we can offer engineering assistance for electricity production as well as to find the solution to use the remaining thermal energy.
The cogeneration plants are suitable for the following projects:
- district heating on biomass
- electricity production + reuse of the remaining thermal energy for the industrial production processes (e.g. drying plants, steam treatment of wood, food processing, etc.)
We offer two systems for the production of electricity:
- Steam system:
The combustion of biomass allows the generation of high pressure steam in the steam boiler. A steam turbine uses steam to drive a generator, which then produces electricity.
- Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) system:
The combustion of biomass allows the heating of thermal oil to 300 °C. Afterwards, thermal oil enters into ORC mechanism which emits the heat to an organic liquid which evaporates and drives the ORC turbine. The ORC turbine subsequently drives the electricity generator which then produces electricity.
We collaborate with most world-renowned turbine manufacturers only.
